Must stop talking about the weather

Too hard when records are broken!

Record maximum!

Sweating Six Word Saturday on Sunday

Sorry, that is smoke, not rain!

Normally these radar scans would suggest some decent rainfall. Sadly, for many days now, they are showing the smoke from bushfires.

Two weeks ago, this post was about Sydney blanketed in smoke. Not every day has been like that because of changes in wind direction. However, records have been set on three days with the index being 10-15 times the safe level for breathing. Today, 21 December is such a day. With temperatures rising above 40C, a number of fires have been declared at emergency level (red). Note: The fire map extends further south than the radar scans.

Blazing away on Six Word Saturday

WPC : Weathered

After a couple of scorching 42C (107.6F) degree days with hot north-westerly winds, our gardens have a weathered look. Even the normally tough-as-nails sasanqua’s new growth took a thorough scorching.
