This week, it is suggested we use a window as a frame. In a contrarian mood, an evolving scientist chose to explore aspects of windows, in and around Saint Petersburg. Firstly, looking through the windows of an historic residence.

True I didn’t receive the email for that post! And … I don’t receive your comments as well :/
Those photos are beautiful.
Versailles (Lagalerie des glaces) would have been a great place too! 😉
Thank you, Mlle. Since visiting Versailles (last century!) it has become a “standard” for lavish palaces, against which other palaces, such as this one, tend to be compared. Hopefully, all the blogging bugs have been removed ?
Yes I receive your comments ! ?
I passed every day in front of Le Chateau de Versailles while I studied at Uni for 3 years 😉

I’m very pleased you weren’t run over by all the tour buses 😉 Bizz
I was driving in Versailles, passing just in front of Le Chateau; it was beautiful 🙂 Bizz
Beautiful windows, Ken. I suspect they are necessary to illuminate the ornate decor and ceiling masterpiece painting.
Yes, Jane, and they would have held functions on the ‘white nights’ (q.v. http://www.saint-petersburg.com/virtual-tour/whitenights/). I’m just glad I don’t have to clean all those windows!
Thanks for the link… that is a fascinating phenomena. I learned something new today ?
Oh…. couldn’t agree with you more…. window care would be way to great a responsibility for my nerves and too demanding for my stamina!!
