Mysterious reminder of grand times past

“Rohini” was an early residence in the area. It gave its name to the street, at the end off which it sits. There is now an Anglican retirement village using the same name, occupying the same area. The name is preserved in the gate, (if you zoom and have good eyesight!). It is located near Turramurra station, originally named Eastern Road. ‘Turramurra’ is an aboriginal word meaning ‘high hill’, appropriate as it is a high point on the north shore line.
