It is early, Suzanne, and thank you. The rest of the tree will open over the next two – four weeks. Thankfully the possums have left it alone this year (so far). Oh, just on another comparison, our Pohutukawa usually starts flowering in August and goes right through to December – I know that is early by NZ standards, or the common name would be different LOL
It’s lovely to have flowers in the winter, I have so many buds on my roses but supposed to be pruning in August here in Perth WA
Agree, Alison, spring keeps getting earlier! We pruned our roses last week, used to wait to end of July. They flowered into June!
Well I’m reluctant to prune at the moment as they are going to look stunning once opened
