Of course, it is summer, after all. Thing is, though, there seems to be compounding evidence of global warming. Massive fish kills in rivers where there is no flow and blue-green algae take over. The state had four days of heatwave this week. New records were set in several towns, both maximum daytime (47C) and minimum overnight (35C).
In the greater metropolitan area of Sydney, the range yesterday was 30C on the coast (thanks to the sea breeze) to 45C in western suburbs. We peaked at 40C at 3:15pm.
Today, a blissful cool change has given relief, and the air-conditioner takes a rest.
Forecast is for another heatwave for next week!
Heating up with Six Word Saturday
Oh my, Ken! ?You won’t hear me complain about our rainy and cool weather… not one single bit. ?
Oh dear, Jane. I didn’t mean to sound as if I was complaining! Just reporting some facts, with an aside about the climate deniers 😉
Oh gee, Ken- I didn’t think you were complaining at all. The facts are well organized in your photos. More a reminder for me not to complain… as happens with folks here when we are in the short, wet days of winter.
I’m reducing global warming by not having air conditioning. But I have fans. I like your informative gadget.
Ouch. Point taken, Trish. We did resist for many years, and we still use fans until the ac is really needed. Glad you like my new toy 🙂
Sorry, my point wasn’t meant to sting. Almost everyone I know uses AC, but hot air has never bothered me much.
Spoken like a true Queenslander!
I hate using air con but we sometimes use it to heat the living room early mornings at this time of year. These houses are built to stay cool, Ken. Sort of the reverse of what I’m used. 🙂 🙂 Enjoy your weekend!
If only we could exchange a few degrees between countries …
Good luck !
Indeed!
And yet people continue to deny climate change…
Sad but true, Jackie ?
That’s a fancy looking weather teller there!
Mid range, Amy, so I’m not competing with the Bureau of Meteorology! Comes from up your way, so we have to point S to N (for the solar cell) and reconfigure accordingly LOL
🙂
Hi ken…
We just had the polar vortex hit the US and so your post here reminded me how it is summer there – and whew – glad you had a little reprieve

And as any noted – that weather apparatus is interesting
