An evolving scientist was fortunate to visit Sheffield Park, a National Trust property in East Sussex. It was Sunday, there were many visitors including children and yet, it was serene. Sublimely serene.

I went for a walk yesterday looking for a place as serene as Sheffield Park, but couldn’t find one. That line from The Castle kept playing in my head: How’s the serenity? I think your photos prove that large bodies of water are an essential element of serenity.
I agree, Trish. Having significant acreage helps too ? The family still occupy the residence. It is only the park that is open, and the locals flock there in numbers.

and my fav part is the rich red and deep greens in the first photo – I have seen that color a lot this week – but that photo has a nice shade of both colors and I kept going back.

yeah – we still have fall leaves here and there in our area – late fall means it is not feeling quite like December this month – but not complaining
