I have been fortunate to visit Saint Petersburg twice, once each in autumn and spring! I never fail to be filled with wonder by The Alexander Column, located in the centre of Palace Square.
The column is a single piece of red granite, 25.45 m (83 ft 6 in) long and about 3.5 m (11 ft 5 in) in diameter.

Hi, Ken. I can see why this column fills you with wonder. Its size alone is remarkable, as well as the fact that it’s made from a single column of granite. Thanks for joining the challenge!
Thank you, Patti. I missed the WP Weekly Challenge, so I was really glad to find yours (thanks to Leya). [not that I’ll necessarily be in every week 😉 ]
I am sure that should I visit St Petersburg that I would also be filled with wonder by the Alexander Column
Not only that column, but many more aspects of this great city, Abrie. Thanks for visiting
