I remember those signs from the various times I’ve been in England. The other useful ones were the “Look left” signs painted, as I recall, on the pavement at crossings to keep those of us from countries where you drive on the other side of the road safe. 🙂 They were much appreciated.

No need to apologise, Janet. We try to look after our pedestrians too, with those ⬅️ LOOK ➡️ signs on kerbs. Very useful in one way streets 😉
