Continuing the series of distractions from, or inclusions in, landscaping found in open gardens. We are forever grateful for the garden owners prepared to share their gardens with us.

Gardenalia 2

A few words of explanation about the watering cans “Dry country”. These are symbolic of the amount of water demanded by the plants in this area of the Cranbourne Gardens, a division of the Royal Victorian Botanic Gardens. A future post will provide more explanation.

Gardenalia 1

We visit open gardens to view the work of other garden owners. We like to see the landscaping of trees, shrubs and bushes, native and exotic. We are often “blown away” by stunning displays of vibrant coloured annuals and perennial borders ….. and yet, the eye is often drawn to other objects, statuary and fountains, often called “gardenalia”.
